These are not just functioning, usable bottle stoppers, these are actually pieces of art! Each stopper is hand made by artisans in Illinois who use a glass fusing process with dichroic glass. The main characteristic of dichroic glass is that is has transmitted color and a different reflective color. These two colors shift, depending on the angle of the view. With the play of light, together with its vibrant color, dichroic glass is a prime tool used to add beautiful effects to any work of art.
These bottle stoppers fit any standard 750ml or 1litre wine or liquor bottle. They are plated in heavy chrome with a solid, non slip rubber grip. Each stopper is hand made with a glass fusing process. Several layers of art and dichroic glass are layered, cut and designed. They are then fused in a kiln at 1600 degrees, hand cut and polished. This process is repeated several times until the desired design is achieved by the artist. Sometimes, this process can take up to three days to complete just one stopper! The result is a unique piece of functional glass art, that is slightly different each time.
